North American Championship Here We Come!

We booked the hotel room long time ago since we knew that in Ephraim the hotels sell out soon, especially in the high season. New to us was that there might be a limit of 80 boats. So we send off our registration for the NAC to be sure we don't end up with a hotel room but no spot to sail.

This will be our first NAC and we are excited about it. The only sad part is that as usual we won't have much training beforehand. But we will try and make an effort to get out as much as possible beforehand. Heidi might also be ready to sail with us now, with would be great because then we don't need somebody to watch the kids.

A few things that would be nice to get done before the NAC is the installation of a new bow flotation bag. The current one has gotten bubbles on the bottom and may slightly leak, but for 13 years its not bad. We also want to install a new spinnaker halyard with take up reel. The current line is getting pretty old and stiff and the new installation that brings the halyard through the deck and back along the center board trunk should allow the skipper to raise and lower the spinnaker and help the crew out. We'll see how that will work.
